Introducing the GTO Trading Awards 2027
Twelve categories, free entry and a scoring model built on verified evidence. Nominations open on 1 December 2026, and every entrant's licence will be checked on the regulator's own register.
The trading industry has no shortage of awards. What it lacks is awards that traders can trust. Too often, readers cannot tell how a trophy was decided, who judged it, what it cost the winner or whether anyone checked the winner’s licence.
Global Trading Outlook is launching its own awards programme to do this differently. The GTO Trading Awards 2027 open for nominations on 1 December 2026. Entry is free, the scoring model is published below, and results will be decided before any commercial conversation takes place with any entrant.
The timetable
- Nominations: 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027
- Verification and judging: February 2027
- Shortlist published: March 2027
- Winners announced: April 2027
The twelve categories
- Most Transparent Broker
- Best Broker, Latin America
- Best Broker, MENA
- Best Broker, South-East Asia
- Best Client Support
- Best Liquidity Provider
- Best Trading Technology Provider
- Most Reliable Prop Firm Payouts
- Best Copy-Trading Platform
- Trading Educator of the Year
- Rising Trader of the Year
- Community Choice
The categories reflect the parts of the industry GTO covers: brokers, liquidity and technology, prop firms, copy trading, education and traders themselves. The regional broker categories recognise firms serving clients in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and South-East Asia. Community Choice gives the final say to the people who use these firms every day.
How entries are scored
Every entry is scored on four components, with fixed weights:
- Verified evidence, 35%. Documents and data the entrant supplies, checked by our team. For a broker this might include execution statistics, published costs and complaint-handling data. For a prop firm, payout records. For an educator, curriculum and disclosures.
- Client outcomes, 25%. What happens to the people the firm or individual serves: whether traders are paid on time, whether complaints are resolved, whether clients understand the risks they are taking.
- Independent judging panel, 25%. Assessment by a panel of independent judges.
- Verified community vote, 15%. Votes from the public, counted only once verified.
The weighting is deliberate. Evidence and outcomes together make up 60% of the score, so a firm cannot win on marketing or popularity alone.
Winners are chosen before any commercial conversation takes place, and buying advertising never changes a result.
Licence checks for every entrant
Regulation is the first thing a trader should check about any firm, and it is the first thing we will check. Every entrant’s licence will be verified directly on the relevant regulator’s own public register, not taken from the entrant’s website or entry form.
That is the same routine we recommend to readers in our guide to checking a broker’s licence: match the legal entity and licence number against the register, and look for warnings.
Independence from commercial relationships
Awards and advertising can sit uncomfortably together. GTO’s rules keep them apart:
- Entering is free. There is no fee to nominate or be nominated.
- Winners are chosen before any commercial conversation. Results are settled first; nothing commercial is discussed until they are.
- Buying features or advertising never affects results. Advertisers and partners receive no advantage, and no firm can buy its way onto a shortlist.
- Winners use the badge free for 12 months. There is no licence fee for displaying the award.
Partner content on GTO is always labelled, and the awards follow the same principle of keeping editorial judgement and commercial activity separate.
How to take part
Nominations open on 1 December 2026 and close on 31 January 2027. The shortlist follows in March and the winners in April 2027.
If an awards programme is going to ask the industry for transparency, it should practise it first. That is the standard we have set ourselves.
